Experiencing Spirit Through Sound

In my post from last week, I spoke a bit about the idea of spiritual self-care. In it, I shared my reasons for finding it important. I also highlighted a few ways that you can practice it.

Today I want to highlight specifically how music can be used for spiritual self-care. From our ancient history to today, sound, music and spiritual healing go hand-in-hand. Music has long an important place in religious practices and belief systems. As well, shamanic practices also often utilize rhythm, sound, and music.

In the video below, I talk about a few specific ways that you can use music to tap in and reconnect with your inner greater or spiritual nature. The world needs more of us to be living from this place- a place of kindness, compassion, and positive transformative creativity. This place can be based on a specific religion, or it can be based on personal beliefs and experiences. Because of this, I find music to an ideal way of addressing our real, human need for experiences of creativity, beauty, and transcendence.
