‘Tis the Season for Holiday Stress
Happy November! As we are now entering into the holiday season, I want to recognize that this time of year can be a stressful time for people. Yes, the holidays bring with them ample opportunities to celebrate, indulge, and enjoy family, friends and the gifts of the season, but it can also bring with it extra expectations.
And it can be difficult to manage these added expectations.
- You may hear an increase of internal “shoulds.”
- You may find yourself comparing yourself to others.
- You may dread spending time with your family- especially in light of our current political climate.
Because of this, I wanted to create a short video series to help you manage the increased stress you may be feeling during the holidays. The information and tips I share will be applicable to you at any time of the year, but my hope is that it will be handy to you at THIS time of the year. I’ll be sharing these videos every Friday throughout November and December, so be sure to check back weekly.
Themes of Stress and Self-Care
These videos will be part of an eight-week series. Each month will have a slightly different theme, yet related to each other. In November, the theme is around stress and managing the expectations that one can experience during the holidays. The focus of December’s videos will be on self-care, including spiritual self-care.
Below you can watch the first video of this series. In this video I talk a bit about the benefits and hazards of stress. I also invite you to begin noticing your own responses to stress.
What Are Your Responses?
